A traditional and moving festival, dear to the hearts of the Provençal people, the Saint-Rémy-de-Provence Transhumance Festival is undoubtedly the most famous festival in the south of France which brings back to life the departures to the mountain pastures.

Transhumance 2024 programme

9am - 7pm: town centre and Place de la République
Second-hand goods fair (registration on 06 16 78 61 62)
Boulevard Marceau :
Cheese market (local producers)
10am - 1pm: Place de République
Bavarian stand (beer and pretzels)
9am - 1pm: church square
Sale of tombola tickets and posters
10.30am: Transhumance (departure and arrival on the Crau plateau)
Departure of the herd of ewes with the shepherds of Provence, the goats of Rove, the donkeys of Provence and charretons.
1pm: Crau plateau
Country-style meal on the Crau plateau, organised by the Comite des fêtes association.
