Nestled in the heart of exceptional landscapes, the citadel of Les Baux overlooks natural sites of breathtaking beauty.

The extraordinary charm and fragrance of a village in Provence.

The Lighthouse of Provence

The prestigious medieval city of Les-Baux-de-Provence, perched on a rocky spur overlooking sumptuous thousand-year-old sceneries planted with vines and olive trees, belongs to the select circle of the Most Beautiful Villages (“Plus Beaux Villages”) in France.

Its pretty cobble-stoned alleyways, lined with Renaissance mansions, run all the way to the castle esplanade. The village has 22 listed architectural treasures classified as historic monuments. Among them the fortress, a unique testimony to the rich and tumultuous history of the Les-Baux-de-Provence in the Middle Ages.

Its wide-reaching cultural and patrimonial identity are known throughout the world, hence its nickname "the Lighthouse of Provence".

Les Baux is one of the most extraordinary places in France, protected as a Historic Monument, where you will discover the remains of the castle's tumultuous past.

The ultimate rampart of the impregnable fortress of Les Baux has been anchored in the rock since the end of the 12th century.

Each year, the Carrières de Lumières (Quarries of Light) project an immersive show of art and music. The site is a former limestone quarry where the works of the Great Masters of Painting (Dali, Gaudi, van Gogh,…) are alternately presented in digital exhibitions.

The Carrière de Lumières benefit from a state-of-the-art process. With images projected onto more than 6000 M2 of surface, it is the largest fixed multimedia installation in France. The spectator finds himself totally immersed in images projected on all the surfaces of the stone. Even the floor changes into a huge carpet of images.
