This disconnection and immersion in the natural environment are possible without taking a plane or even leaving the country!
A sunrise during a bivouac on the banks of a wild Rhône river will give you the same sensations as if you'd experienced it on the other side of the planet. Roaming along the water, experiencing time and contemplation over a long period of time, and economising on resources in a context of relative autonomy are a good way to develop as a person, given the challenges we all face.
