Pablo Picasso: imaginary letters by David Lawrence

Cultural

The exhibition Pablo Picasso: imaginary letters by David Lawrence will be on show at the Espace Hôtel de Lagoy from 9 February to 2 June 2024.

This exhibition, produced by Maison Templar, is on show at the Hôtel de Lagoy in its original version: 100 imaginary letters written by David Lawrence to the greatest painter of the 20th century.

These letters will accompany 100 photographs from this magnificent collection.

David Lawrence, author of Marilyn Monroe, America's Secret and Francis Bacon, Accidental Encounters, has created a most moving portrait for the public through his letters, which ring incredibly true. Among the signatories of these 100 imaginary letters: Auguste Renoir, David Bowie, Winston Churchill, Paul Bocuse, Ambroise Vollard, Jean Cocteau, Yves Saint-Laurent, Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis, Géraldine Chaplin, Paul Eluard, Samuel Beckett, Ernest Hemingway, Grace Kelly, Françoise Sagan, Michel Leiris, Francis Bacon, General de Gaulle, Eric Tabarly...

Films are shown throughout the exhibition.

In Room 1 of the exhibition, school groups and the general public can discover the key stages of Pablo Picasso's early years. From his birth in Malaga to the dawn of Cubism.
