Chapelle du Castellet - Saint Victor

Historic site and monument

The site of Castelet, a small rocky plateau, was occupied by an oppidum in the 4th century BC. Abandoned two centuries later, it was reinvested in the 12th century. These remains are located on the grounds of a private farmhouse and are therefore inaccessible to the public.

The Le Castellet site, a small rocky plateau, was occupied by an oppidum in the 4th century BC. It was abandoned two centuries later, but redeveloped in the 12th century. Within the château walls was a high tower, which no longer exists, as well as a church dedicated to Saint Mary. Only the apse remains standing: it is semi-domed and supported by eight ribs resting on corbels. These remains are currently located on the land of a private Mas and are therefore inaccessible to the public.
