Village d'Eygalières

Historic site and monument

Eygalières is a small, quiet village 5 minutes from Saint Rémy de Provence.

Surrounded by superb Alpilles landscapes, the village faces vast fields of olive groves, verdant valleys and vines. Beautiful estates with superb, tastefully restored Mas are scattered throughout this picture-postcard landscape.
In the distance, before you arrive in the village, you will see Eygalières perched on top of its small hill. As you approach, you will gradually be able to make out the houses spread out on the hill facing the panoramic view... and your only thought will be to stop and visit this village.
You will discover an extremely charming village which has retained its authentic atmosphere. The village's old houses are made of stone and are very beautiful; there is always a hint of greenery or a flower bush peeping out from the gate, hinting at the presence of beautiful gardens. The houses stretch serenely along the narrow winding streets. The main street climbs up to the old village; as you climb Rue de l'Eglise you will come across the ruins of the château, the esplanade of the old keep and Saint Laurent Church.
