The Clock Tower in Aureille.
The neo-Romanesque Clock Tower, built in place of the bell tower of the village's first church, Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption (formerly the parish church of Sainte-Marie).
The church was built in the 17th century at the expense of the villagers, who were very poor and unable to maintain it. It was enlarged after the plague epidemic of 1720, but remained in a constantly poor state of repair. It was finally replaced by a new church in the 19th century and became a municipal property.
