Exhibition Les Figures d'Artistes at the Estrine Museum

Permanent collection - Artists' figures at the Estrine Museum !

Exposition annuelle au Musée Estrine
Musée Estrine

This year, the permanent collection will focus on the great figures of the Estrine Museum. An entire space will be devoted to Albert Gleizes, who has had a profound impact on the life of Saint-Rémy since he moved to Les Méjades with his wife Juliette Roche in 1939. The works presented will retrace his itinerary as a painter and his interest in plastic styles, from cubism to abstraction.
André Marchand will also be honoured with a group of paintings centred on the representation of the human figure, from his first so-called monochrome paintings to the great post-cubist coloured compositions of the post-war period.
Mario Prassinos, whose museum holds an important deposit of works from the Centre National des Arts Plastiques, will also be present with paintings from the Pèretextat and Prétextat series, which imagine new plastic forms in the service of the portrait. Finally, other painters will complete this panorama of the artist's figures: Eugene Leroy with his portraits/appearances, Edouard Pignon and his large nudes, or Bernard Buffet and his characteristically strong figuration.
