Exhibition of Jacques Winsberg in Eygalières from 10 to 26 June in the old Saint-Laurent church!
Retrospective of Jacques Winsberg in Eygalières from 10 to 26 June, at the old Saint-Laurent church, every day except Monday from 11am to 1pm and from 3pm to 7pm.
A selection of very large paintings (130 x 180 cm on average) by Jacques WINSBERG (1929-1999) will be on display to the public from 10 to 26 June in the old Saint-Laurent church in Eygalières in the old village.
This figurative painter who won the Prix de la Jeune Peinture in Paris in 1956 came to live and work in Eygalières for more than twenty years. He has exhibited very regularly in France and in many countries, including Japan.
Centred on one of the artist's favourite themes, the "toros" and the Camargue, this exhibition, organised by "Eygalières Terre d'Artistes" in association with the painter's family, is accompanied by the projection of a film made especially for the occasion, presenting a series of large pen-and-ink drawings, never shown before, which testify to Jacques Winsberg's astonishing dexterity as a drawer.
During the opening, on Tuesday 13 June at 6 pm, the musician Louis Winsberg, son of the artist, will play a few pieces of his own composition on the guitar in tribute to his father.
