Exhibition at the Musée des Alpilles by Caroline Garcia - Engraving water, from 11 March to 11 June.
As a prelude to the G-Graines Biennial, the Musée des Alpilles is exhibiting the work of the printmaker Caroline Garcia, as part of another Biennial, SUDestampe.
Born in Angers, Caroline Garcia carries within her the dreamlike landscapes of her region, populated by large bare trees, bathed in water, which split and metamorphose in the quivering mirror of rivers. In the series Paysages ligériens, she explores these places on the edge of reality and fantasy where the vegetal and the aquatic merge. The branches reflected in the water, the trees overturned by this play of mirrors change their nature, becoming moving and glittering forms, on the borderline between abstraction and figuration.
