Discover the Robert Droulers exhibition at the Musée Estrine, in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, from 18 February to 4 June 2023.
The Estrine and La Piscine (Roubaix) museums have joined forces to produce a large-scale exhibition in two concomitant sections exploring the diversity of media used by this versatile artist: drawings (inks, watercolours, gouaches), collages and prints (monotypes, linocuts, drypoints), paintings (on wood or canvas) and also works in volume (sculptures, textiles, furniture, architecture).
"Robert Droulers is a painter who seeks to capture the dreamed or lived vision, but at the same time, he is the one who is concerned with letting living things happen. It is not surprising that one of his favourite figures is the window.
A man of "air and wind", a singer of the unfinished, he knows himself to be an angel of the double kingdom. In our midst, loving us and loving us, so to speak, without our knowing it, he has blazed a trail that has the gift of constantly introducing the infinite into the finite, the invisible into the visible, the desire for beauty into death transfigured by the flame lit in the most secret corner of the heart.
